They tend to discover that kitchen play becomes a more enjoyable activity if their play kitchen is organized. Children may store their pretend ingredients away in the cupboards and neatly organize the plates and cutlery for their guests – all whilst planning what they are going to cook next and who will get what meal!. When children engage in kitchen role play, they are acting out real life occupations and situations that they are familiar with.
It is not only cleaning of the kitchen that matters, but most important is, how one executes this practice of keeping hygiene in the kitchen. An unclean kitchen might sound something not so relevant but worst of the health problems are bound to arise here itself. For example, food poisoning, which can happen as a result of consuming stale food or food without proper reheating or not keeping the food for proper refrigeration when required. Other health risk, with reference to some past evidences is scrapes, which is in some ways similar to the mad cow disease.
The materials will probably be a mixture of your budget and the designers taste. It is essential to collaborate well with the designer with materials to know where to splurge on and what to hold back on. Safety measures should also be considered. Of course gadgetry will be spaced out well and there should be proper ventilation. It will be all mapped out for you. It is essential also that the time frame of building of the kitchen be closely inspected by the owner so as to ensure that the project is going fast or better, faster than expected. After all the planning and building, you may feel a bit overwhelmed by the beauty of your kitchen and how things are spaced out and organized for your needs. Designer kitchens are collaborative efforts. You do not just get a kitchen from a magazine, depending on your space, needs, budget and taste; your kitchen should be a reflection of a collaborative effort to ensure that you will have a great kitchen experience!
Many mental health organizations emphasize that proper nutrition is a fundamental part of maintaining brain health. Dr. Andrew McCulloch, former CEO of The Mental Health Foundation, wrote that ”nutrition should become a mainstream, everyday component of mental health care”. And cooking and baking for yourself allows you to be more aware of what you’re putting in your body, and how it reacts to different foods and dietary staples. Nutrient-dense diets including lots of dark leafy greens, legumes, oily fish and berries have been conclusively linked to better outcomes when it comes to mood disorders. But not everybody reacts to food the same way; intolerance and gut microbiomes influence our reactions and therefore our moods. And cooking for yourself, experts say, is one of the best ways to take care of your own mental health, provided you have enough time to do it. As if you needed another reason not to order delivery for the eightieth night in a row, doing it for the mental health boost can really come in handy. While there’s no shame in not cooking if you just aren’t feeling up to it, it’s worth noting the science behind taking this small step to nourish yourself.
Thirdly, sometimes during cooking, utensils get burnt badly and it becomes difficult to clean them. Discarding these is definitely not the solution; rather, these utensils can be filled with water and boiled properly. As the water cools down, the utensil can be cleaned easily using the daily detergent. The fourth most important aspect of kitchen hygiene is cleanliness in the drains. The use of regular chemicals can be beneficial in this. Also bleaching powder can be used to clean the sinks every two weeks.
Play kitchens give children the opportunity to identify new objects and food. You can stock play kitchens with a variety of items, which also gives children the chance to categories the different food types and utensils as well. By promoting different types of pretend food, such as fruit, vegetables, eggs and meat, it encourages children to make healthier food choices. They imagine the food they have cooked in appetizing scenarios, which tends to encourage them to try eating that food in real life as well. Play kitchens also help to develop a child’s fine motor skills, as they are picking up accessories in their kitchen and using the tools in play situations.
